As co-founder and CTO of Phone2Action, Nathaniel was responsible for building the company's mobile advocacy platform from the ground up. The platform uses mobile web technology to empower organizations to instantly engage supporters to take action about important issues.The company was the winner of 2013 SXSW Interactive Accelerator in the News Technologies category.Building the platorm involved:- JavaScript (AJAX with jQuery), jQuery Mobile, and CSS for the front-end- Integration with many APIs such as Twilio and Google Maps- LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) on the back-end

Developer on the Inpatient application team. Expanded the existing report-generation framework used company-wide to generate and display HTML views and RTF printouts, improving the visual hierarchy for usability and legibility, and giving it a more modern design. Investigated and fixed a wide variety of issues in our team's code, improved the design of our reports in consultation with clinicians and UI designers, and made a variety of enhancements.

Web development (ColdFusion, PHP, MSSQL, JavaScript) and general technology intern for the first summer. Moved up to the grand title of "Chief engineer", responsible for keeping the technology running and making updates and enhancements to the website. Also responsible for setting up and maintaining a linux MediaWiki server for handling community involvement. Consulted remotely for several years afterwards for maintenance and small projects.

Designed and implemented BungeeUnit - a unit test framework for Bungee's own web application platform. Integrated the framework with the existing build/release process to support regular unit testing internally.

Worked as a residence assistant in a first-year residence hall advising students, planning activities and fostering community.
