Provisioning of research-based consulting services to engineering and environment related industry/ private sector for procurement/installation of correct OEM systems, equipment, critical technical stores/ spares in the most cost effective manner conforming to local and International standards.

 Responsibly managed all administrative functions of general administration, ceremonies, discipline, organization, career progression/ advancement promotion, Award of Medals, welfare, legal and financial issues of over 10,000 serving naval personnel.  Being a qualified environmentalist, managed all relevant environmental issues in the light of International conventions ratified by the Government of Pakistan and National Environment Quality Standards. Ensured correct procedures for disposal of emissions, solid and liquid water material in the units under Logistics Command and monitor the functions of PN Dockyard environment organization to comply all SOPs of collecting wastes from Ships and its disposal through Port Waste Reception facilities. Conducted national level bi-annual Tree plantation campaigns in Pakistan Navy areas. Actively represented Pakistan Navy, National University of Science & Technology and EPA Sindh at high level governmental forums on Environment Protection, Marine Pollution control in Karachi Harbour and Waste Management related initiatives since year 1999. Formulated National Marine Pollution Control Strategy for Coastal Areas under Marine Pollution Control Board and DG Ports & Shipping. As a technical expert contributed in preparation of National Maritime Disaster Contingency Plan (NMDCP) at Ministry level after grounding of MT TASMAN SPIRIT in Karachi Harbour. Attended all National level Oil Spill Exercises ‘BARRACUDA’ at sea under MSA till 2013 as an expert observer. Represented Pakistan Navy as professional Environmentalist in IUCN’s Mangroves for the Future (MFF) Programme and as technical Sub-committee member approved medium and small projects to support local community action for the restoration/ protection and management of coastal ecosystems and their use on a sustainable basis. Assisted in the training of EPOs in the development of environmental compliance strategies including EHS for correct implementation in the units.

 Implemented environmental policy and standard procedures in Pakistan Navy Dockyard, Workshops, Docks, Marine Railways and Ships Maintenance Yards. Conducted audits and inspections to ensure environmental compliance as part of Safety and QA/QMS. Carried out analysis of accidents/incidents for improvement plans towards Risk Management System. Developed procedures/ guidelines in compliance with OHSA requirements and local instructions on Occupational Health & Safety including Fire hazards and its proper protection. As Project Manager, supervised design layout work and indigenous development of Debris Collection Boats and Containment Booms for controlling floating debris around Naval Harbour. Successfully managed operation and maintenance of Pakistan Navy auxiliary crafts and Maintenance workshops. Implemented correct engineering SOPs and Planned Maintenance Schedules (PMS) in PN Dockyard Workshops, Docks, Marine Railways and Ships Maintenance Yards having electro-mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic driven support machineries/equipment and overhead heavy moving machines, cranes, gantries. Supervised overhauling of marine machineries including all kinds of engines and other associated auxiliary machines/equipment.

Worked with highly demanding and professional Integrated Project Team (IPT). As an important member, actively involved in all high-valued R&D projects for their successful completion. Organized Project Progress and Steering Committee meetings and presented projects progress for performance appraisal. Participated in designing, implementation and auditing of Integrated Management System consisting of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001, as a part of QA Team.

Responsibly managed all maritime activities within Pakistan Navy and formulated/ proposed Navy’s point of view on maritime and environment related issues to the Government. Ensured compliance of Oil Spill Contingency Plan, IMO Protocol (MARPOL-73) and other National & International treaties/ conventions. Ensure constant liaison with Governmental and other agencies including NGOs for development of marine potential of Coastal Areas. Dealt with all matters of environmental management including control of Marine Pollution in Karachi Harbour and Oil Installation development projects in the Coastal areas of Pakistan. Ensured implementation of National Maritime Disaster Contingency Plan by all stakeholders in true letter and spirit when required. Master's thesis titled 'Occupational Noise Assessment of Pakistan Railway Carriage Factory-Islamabad'.

Responsibly identified critical stores/ spares of Mechanical, Electrical, Textile, Paints, POL and other inventory items for Navy’s use for local development through indigenous resources. Prepared necessary drawings, functional & material specifications / acceptance criteria etc. and supervised various technical R&D projects successfully like development of Fire & Safety Mock Up for trainees.

Delivered lectures to undergraduate/graduate engineering students of NUST. Instructed mid-career professional engineers for their performance of duties as Marine Engineer Officer on board Warships and Submarines. Conducted audits conforming to ISO standards/procedures. Headed a group of workshops consisting of Machine Shop, Welding Shop, Wood Work Shop and Bench Fitting Shop. Supervised research projects of BE students and devised specifications of Hospital Waste Incinerator for incorporation in the National Environmental Quality Standards (NEQS).

 Headed Engineering Department comprising of Gas/Steam/Diesel Main Engines, Turbines, Shipboard Generators, High pressure Boilers, Desalination and Air Conditioning Plants, Heavy Air Compressors, Hydraulics, Propulsion machinery and auxiliaries. Successfully conducted refits, essential repairs, Dockings and other associated repairs activities per Planned Maintenance routines including testing of onboard electro-mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic machines/ equipment. Devised policies and SOPs for Damage Control and Firefighting onboard. Ensured effective training of personnel to monitor and control operational risks, Environment, Health, Safety and pollution related matters in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and IMO Conventions.

Carried out inspection and acceptance of all kinds of general, electrical, POL, technical stores, machinery items/spares including fire and safety related equipment for Navy’s use conforming to International Standards i.e. ASTM, DIN, BS, MILSPEC, ISO and PQSI Standards. Ensured Indents correct categorization, verification and scrutiny for subsequent procurement.
