State Policy Director
CurrentFood Solutions Action is a new 501(c)(4) non-profit and PAC, focusing on accelerating approaches that address the harms and risks of industrial animal agriculture. The primary path we take is through supporting policy and political activities that accelerate the development of the alternative protein sector. I lead our state policy program, spearheading our policy efforts in Massachusetts, California, Michigan, and other states, as opportunities arise.
Climate Policy Associate
Second Nature is an organization focused on advancing climate action in, and through, higher education. In this role, I supported climate policy initiatives across different US states, engaged with colleges and universities across the country, launched the Academics for Climate Advocacy Working Group, and spearheaded a number of other policy initiates as the in-house expert on climate policymaking. I also ran our monthly policy newsletter, and led our policy strategy process.
Fellow
Factory Farming Awareness Coalition (FFAC) educates and empowers individuals and communities to support just and sustainable food systems, providing objective and well-sourced information on the social and environmental impacts of industrial agriculture. In this role, I lead a cohort of college students as they study factory farming through a variety of perspectives.
Outreach Director
The MA Healthy School Lunch Coalition is working to pass a bill to replace disease-promoting foods typically served for lunch with healthful whole foods and declares every March 21st Massachusetts Child Nutrition Day. In this role, I helped lead our coalition's outreach efforts and raise support for the legislation.
State Climate Policy Network Director
For three years, I managed the State Climate Policy Network, growing the network from 200 individuals to more than 15,000+ advocates, policymakers, business leaders, academics and concerned individuals working to push forward effective, ambitious, and equitable climate policies in their state. In this role, I worked with legislators and advocates to advance strong climate policy, hosted monthly national calls and webinars, and provided media coverage to campaigns taking place across the country. In 2019, I managed regional Carbon Solutions Summits in the Southwest, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest that brought together thousands of key stakeholders and policymakers from across the region to discuss the pathway forward for strong climate solutions. Additionally, I launched our national fellowship program, which has trained and cultivated the growth of nearly 75 undergraduate and graduate students from across the country.
