During six months, I have developed a microbiology course for ARTIS-Micropia and the ARTIS-Academy. This four-session course offers new points-of-view on the topic of food and the role that microbes play in our food digestion, production and future food innovations.

During the years that followed my board year, I was a member of the merchandise committtee, the committee external affairs, board advisory committee and the committee that recruits the new board.

The youth association ‘NJN’ focuses on learning about, and from, nature and sustainability. They organise yearly summer camps and other activities, such as a yearly congress in which the policy of the board is discussed. This congress is organized by a specific committee, of which I was chair in 2020.

For a year, I had a function in the five-person board of the NJN, which was ‘Coordinator External Affairs’. This included design and planning of flyers and ads, and keeping in touch with all of our contacts.

During this 9-month internship I have worked in the lab Plant Microbe Interactions, where I have researched the effect of the rhizosphere microbiome on soybean's immune system. I have obtained useful lab skills and learned to write scientifically correct.

Every year the Biomimicry Institute launches a worldwide design challenge. With my team DELight, we designed a new streetlight, minimizing light pollution and glare caused by outdated current designs. For our sustainable design, we took inspiration from nature.

At my rowing association, I have always been active in committees. In 2020 I was a member of the “afroei” committee, which intensively guides the new members during the first two months of the year. Furthermore, I have organised the introduction camp in 2018 and the Dies in 2019. I also have helped organise clinics for company outings. I am a member of the bar committee and finally, I was a member of sorority FLOAT.
