I was given the opportunity to assist field engineers and superintendents on construction sites during this internship. Some of the experience I have gained includes construction methodology, problem solving, and construction management. During this internship I was able to learn about the importance of performing JHA's and following OSHA safety standards, I was able to assist field engineers in surveying for certain projects, assist in managing small groups of workers for certain projects and help with carrying out construction on multiple projects.

This position gives me the opportunity to learn and contribute to an engineering firm under multiple professional engineers within the water, wastewater and water treatment engineering industry. My role at this firm is to help with autocad design drawings and plans, water treatment plant reporting, and other tasks needed for the firm under the supervision of the companies engineers.

In this position I work in a research lab and conduct field studies, studying hemp pathology as an assistant. This position has taught me various diseases in hemp and also experience with lab techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis to clone DNA to observe diseases that occur in hemp plants. Further, I have learned basic greenhouse practice and field growth practice with this plant and how to grow appropriately.

I had the opportunity to work at the University of Kentucky: Department of Horticulture as a student worker. This gave me great experience in the field of horticulture by working on current experimental agriculture studies at the University farm locations. I was able to be a part of the maintenance and agricultural production for vegetable and flower grow studies that were conducted. I was also able to enhance my experience with Microsoft Excel through data collection and analysis.

At the Excavator I was able to work as a contractor doing excavation and minor electrical work for construction projects. The experience this job offered me includes: • Construction techniques and interpretation of design.• Safety courses and operation of machinery.• Appropriate construction site behavior, communication and safety.Overall, this job has helped me identify some of my skills and given me experience in the construction industry.
