My name is Noah Bamberger, and I'm a mechanical engineer with additional experience in controls, software, tool maintenance, machining, and woodworking.I graduated from Oregon State University in June with my Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. I worked as an intern at Automation Solutions, where I learned how a manufacturing setting operates. I learned a broad range of techniques for creating and assembling control panels for industrial machinery as well as robotics. I arranged and assembled control panels from detailed schematics and learned how to interpret and revise these schematics. I have also designed and built a number of mechatronic systems, including an automatic guitar tuner which utilized Fast Fourier Transforms on an Arduino and a self playing guitar robot. The latter is my senior design project, and it has involved extensive control system, software, and mechanical design as well as additive manufacturing, recycled material sourcing, and technical writing. I practice my engineering skills in my own projects as well. I designed and wrote a python script that would generate a trajectory for a differential drive robot based off of given waypoints and headings. This project involved learning about obstacle avoidance, PID control, optimization, and object oriented programming. My other area of experience is with instrument design, construction, and repair. Since 2020, I've been teaching myself how to build guitars, and I've since designed and built many custom instruments. I use both hand and computer drafting skills, stressed skin support design, acoustics principles, hand and power tool skills, and fixture design skills in this process. While building these guitars, I've also been running the OSU Craft Center Woodshop where I develop and exercise my interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and tool maintenance skills.
