I am currently a student at Northeastern University studying Theater and Behavioral Neuroscience. I am an experienced actor and theater maker with a deep passion for science and am interested in exploring how these disciplines can be leveraged to make a positive impact on the world.I have always been a storyteller. Throughout my childhood, I imagined worlds of magic and wonder and performed stories of grand adventures. I wrote poems and read voraciously, determined to learn everything that I could about the world. I found freedom through curiosity and storytelling; each passion fueled the other. My insatiable curiosity led me to another pursuit– science, which, at its core, is asking questions and discovering new ways to explain our world. This form of inquiry has always been another creative outlet for me. By age four, I was drawing inventions and absorbing all the animal facts my brain could hold. Once I discovered theater, I grew to thrive on the collective spirit of being part of a company, and learned to savor the privilege to tell story after story in show after show. My twin passions for science and theater remain more vital than ever. I believe in the power of creativity to cultivate hope, of the arts as a catalyst for change, of scientific discovery to propel us forward, and of the intersection between invention and performance to transform the world for the better. I've studied dramaturgy, script analysis within the context of Creative Practice Research, intersections between activism and performance, and Theatre of the Oppressed. As a Behavioral Neuroscience student, I am well versed in the process of scientific inquiry. Such content, along with a wide range of acting and production experiences and science classes, have instilled in me the perseverance to work through all manner of difficult problems and scenarios. I’m a diligent, organized researcher, am fascinated by the intersections between science and theater, and am passionate about using theater as a vehicle for change. I also have experience in leadership positions such as my work as a Head Electrician for Northeastern’s Theater Department and as a member of the Executive Board of Northeastern’s Shakespeare Society. I’m an adept problem-solver, I thrive under pressure, and I collaborate effectively to ensure that things go smoothly and adapt when they don’t.
