As a Data Analyst Intern, I developed data analysis and automation tools to support HII Unmanned Systems' vehicle testing programs.My primary responsibilities included:Creating Python packages for analyzing vehicle sensor and telemetry data, including data cleaning, filtering, feature extraction, and modeling. This allowed engineers to quickly gain insights from the test runs.Building data parsers using Python to interface with the various data formats coming directly from unmanned vehicles during testing. This structured the raw data for downstream analysis.Developing REST APIs using Flask to programmatically send analyzed data and metrics to our front-end GUI system for user visualization and monitoring of vehicle tests.Through this internship, I gained valuable hands-on experience in data science and backend software development for unmanned systems. This position helped advance my skills in data science and REST API development using Flask. In the first half of my internship, I analyzed results generated by our testing program, Neoload, and documented bugs and issues. This helped me to gain a deeper understanding of the testing process and the importance of thorough documentation.During the second half of my internship, I had the opportunity to work hands-on with various record and play automation programs such as Neoload, TestComplete, and Katalon Studios. I was able to apply my knowledge of testing principles and techniques to automate test cases that were previously done manually. This allowed us to save time and improve the efficiency of our testing process.Throughout my internship, I maintained open communication with my mentors and the rest of my team through daily scrum meetings. During these meetings, I shared my daily tasks and goals and voiced any concerns or blockers I encountered. By tracking all progress with Jira, with the help of our scrum master, I was able to stay organized and ensure that our testing efforts were well-coordinated.Overall, my internship at Advisor360 was a challenging and rewarding experience that allowed me to develop my skills in software testing and automation.
