Cloud Engineer
Current-Maintain and operate an Infrastructure as a Service offering using commercial cloud servicessuch as those provided as part of C2E (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)-Maintain and operate cloud environment that manages various fit-for-purpose cloud instancetypes including but not limited to General Compute, Storage Enhanced, and GPU enhanced-Implement cloud specific services that provide cost, performance, or management benefitthat allows workloads to be run in accordance with best practices-Maintain an automation self-service portal. Keep system and application blueprints current-Maintain and sustain capacity management, monitoring, and dashboards to monitor thehealth of the IaaS environment, report on and recommend reserved instance purchases to meet staticcapacity demands and create dashboards for management review-Monitor for potential optimizations that would lead to improved cost or improved performanceto running cloud applications-Use capacity model-driven analytics for resource monitoring, planning, and optimizationapplicable to any object-Monitor application dependency mapping, naming, and versioning via automated applicationdiscovery and relationship visualization-Implement Cloud and OS-level change, configuration, patch management, hardening, and compliance-Develop, support, and troubleshoot scripts for automation of tasks for all systemdesigns. Test automation in test environment-Support and troubleshoot scripts written in Microsoft Powershell, Python, bash, and/or perl.Use automation tools like Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, puppet, and/or chef. Use softwaredefined techniques and integration with RESTful API’s. Utilize the CI/CD pipeline and Platformprocesses and tools to test and approve all scripts including using the approved codingrepository (GitHub, GitLab, etc)-Assist in integrating applications with cloud native APIs and ensuring developers areprovided with documentation on best practices to ensure secure application design
