As a Bodhi Leaf Shift Lead, I was in charge of the overall crew during my assigned shifts. This meant that I had to delegate tasks amongst the other baristas as well as perform shift lead responsibilities. Furthermore, I was also in charge of opening the store first thing in the morning or locking up the store right after we closed. Additionally, when customers had a problem with their specific item, beverage, or meal, I would assist those customers and cater to their specific needs. Overall, having been a Bodhi Leaf Shift Lead has taught me a lot about the importance of customer service, delegating tasks, and maintaining strong work ethic.

As one of the marketing coordinators for the UCLA Athletics Department, my responsibilities lied within an organization known as Den Operations which was a group of students in charge of outreach, internal affairs, media, and marketing for our campus athletic department. Within the marketing department, I coordinated specific content, posted to the social platforms associated with the organization, and helped boost engagement through content creation and editing. My time in Den Operations provided me with much insight on the world of sports marketing as well as ways to create engaging content for specific audiences.

As a UCLA Campus Tour Guide, my responsibilities revolved around discussing the benefits of higher education to prospective and admitted students. In doing this, I was able to share lots of information on my tours regarding the resources that UCLA has to offer as well as opportunities students can take advantage of. Additionally, I was in charge of helping parents schedule tours, answering specific questions, or following up on emails within our designated "office hours". Furthermore, as a campus tour guide, I was required to attend weekly meetings that exposed all guides to different types of content we could discuss on our tours. Whether this be new routes, more information on specific buildings/majors, or new policies and perspectives students should be aware. Lastly, the experience that makes me the most fit for this job is the recruiting experience that I was able to gain within my second year of being a campus tour guide. Within my second year of employment, I was promoted to become a Lead Tour Guide where I would assist my directors in choosing, interviewing, and onboarding the next set of tour guides within our program. Hence, I interviewed more than 100 people, conducted several rounds for each candidate, help choose specific candidates for our opening roles, and conducted a series of onboarding tasks for our new employees.

As a crew member for Trader Joes, there is a variety of tasks that are expected of all crew members every hour. Crew members are designated to four categories during a shift and are sign-team, product team, carts, and customer experience. Personally, I became a member of the sign-team three months after I started working there. My responsibilities consisted of making signs for the store and ensuring customers are able to clearly see the name, price, description, and weight of the product. We also had a majority of our time dedicated to being on the product team. On this team, you are making sure that all products are restocked within all parts of the store as well as determining whether some products should be donated or expired. Next, we have carts which are crew members who are going through the parking garages and bringing the carts back to the store so customers can use them. Lastly, we are in charge of customer experience, whether that be helping someone find a product or helping a customer check out their items. When on customer experience, you are ensuring that your customers are finding everything okay and are given assistance when needed. Some examples are bagging groceries, helping lift heavy items, and carrying our carts for certain customers. Overall, working for Trader Joes has put a lot of importance on skills such as product knowledge, customer service, and efficiency.
