I worked on the Cyber Range Development team, which involved expanding Cyber Range, Field Effect's training and e-learning product, and creating new features. My project involved implementing the functionality for learning management system (LMS) integration in order to provide easier use and access for clients in the e-learning space. My tasks were as follows:- Participating in the SCRUM process by attending meetings, creating tickets, and delivering updates- Researching and learning about different integration standards for LMSs, and deciding on one to move forward with- Developing and integrating a sample ReactJS application with the LMS of choice- Preparing and delivering project updates for the director/team to display progress and recommend the next steps to take- Enumerating the changes in the sample application to the Cyber Range product in order to integrate it with the LMS in useIn this placement, I learned about work processes at a start-up, used GitLab to track issues, and got to work on written and oral communication skills. The test application I created used a MERN tech stack (MongoDB, Express JS, ReactJS, Node.js), and I programmed it in Javascript and Typescript. I also learned about and used the LTI integration standard, which is supported by most mainstream LMSs and provides services like grade returning, deep linking, and more.I highly enjoyed my time at Field Effect, and am excited to follow their growth in the future!
