Over the summer I had the opportunity to continue development of the respirator testing device which was part of my senior design project. I incorporated new sensors and components into the device to improve accuracy, ease of use, and enable new testing functionality. In addition to testing the efficacy of various types of respirators, I worked to validate the performance of the device to ensure measurement accuracy across various temperature, humidity, and pressure conditions. I used SOLIDWORKS to design a modular system of components to support a greater variety of respirators and enable development of novel respirator designs. Lastly, I used C++ to update and improve the codebase to enable better user control over test conditions and display information to the user in a more intuitive way.

I ensured customer satisfaction by balancing the needs of multiple patients and ensuring workplace cleanliness. I was also responsible for updating patient charts and adapting exercise routines based on individual progress.

I designed and organized a comprehensive document comprised of patents published by Stevens researchers and professors. This booklet categorized close to 100 patents, accurately described key features and potential applications in one-page write-ups, and helped improve correspondence between inventors and commercial partners. I also created a well-written report detailing how a new medical device could become profitable by analyzing market conditions and finding ways to reduce production costs by an estimated 60%.

I collaborated with various departments to tackle projects such as designing an engineering competition based on sustainable development goals and redefining the benefits system for student members. Additionally, I delivered a 10-minute pitch each week and provided supplemental content including articles and webpage mockups as needed. I also developed a business plan to introduce a new ASME app that consolidated member resources and would enable better engagement at career fairs and other ASME events.
