I graduated from the Welding Technologies program at DCTC in May of 2015. The last week of school I applied at Trystar, Inc. in Faribault and was hired on as a welder. I was a Fabrication Welder at Trystar for over 5 years and have become proficient at MIG welding carbon steel support frames for docking stations, transformers, and other heavy duty controls and power distribution enclosures. I am also experienced at TIG welding aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. I assembled and welded every type of box or frame that Trystar produced in the last few years, in any of those three materials; often times switching between TIG and MIG aluminum welding, Stainless TIG welding, and MIG welding carbon steel in the same day. I am familiar with Stick welding, but am not nearly as proficient. A couple years ago I changed gears and am now a member of a window installation crew. We often work in multi-million dollar homes, removing old windows and doors and installing new. Our installation process includes inspecting the rough opening for rot or other damage and if necessary re-framing. We apply the exterior waterproofing caulk, as well as the interior finishing trim.
