I write a monthly column on hip hop for Unwinnable, and occasionally contribute columns on television, film, and games. Since January 2020, I'm also a co-editor of the book section for Exploits magazine.

I substitute for both the History and English departments at John Burroughs.

During my PhD program I worked as a research assistant for two different instructors. Secondly, I acted as an editorial assistant on her co-edited collection, "Television and the Self: Knowledge, Identity, and Media Representation" (Lexington, 2013). Given my success on that project, Dr. Ryan and her co-editor, Dr. Deborah A. Macey invited me to become an official co-editor on the next book in their series, "How Television Shapes Our Worldview: Media Representations of Social Trends and Change" (Lexington, 2014) and the follow-up collection, "Friends, Lovers, Co-Workers, and Community: Everything I Know About Relationships I Learned from Television" (Lexington, 2016). In addition to these editorial capacities, I helped Dr. Ryan on the development of an interactive, online documentary about pin up artists that will accompany her upcoming documentary, "Pin Up: The Movie." I taught two sections of Journalism and Mass Communication 1001 in Fall, 2014 and Fall, 2014. I also acted as a teaching assistant for this same class in Spring, 2013 and Spring, 2014. In these classes, we focused on introducing the basic elements of media history, production and theory.

During my masters degree, I acted as a teaching assistant for Susan Felleman and Jyotsna Kapur. I helped teach classes on Film Theory and Film History.
