I am a dedicated M.Sc. in Precision Engineering student at University of Bern, specializing in optics, while simultaneously working as a development engineer for laser technologies at Bystronic Group, a leading global supplier of cutting-edge solutions for the sheet metal processing industry. Studying part-time allows me to apply new knowledge directly to my work, seamlessly bridging theory and practice.I rejoined Bystronic in October 2023 after earning my B.Sc. in Photonics from the University of Applied Sciences of Grisons. My academic focus was on understanding and applying the principles of light, covering key topics like image processing, optical metrology, laser technology and optoelectronic components. This solid foundation has enhanced my ability to innovate in the field of optics and machine vision.Alongside my studies, I gained significant experience during a 15-month tenure at Optotune, a pioneering company in optical components. There, I contributed to the development of advanced tunable lenses, leveraging my skills in photonics. This journey began with an internship focused on material characterization and testing, providing valuable hands-on research experience.Before pursuing my academic path, I worked as a mechanical designer but also as master data manager at Bystronic, where I built a foundation in mechanical systems and data management.I am passionate about solving complex problems and enhancing the efficiency and functionality of optical systems. Always eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, I thrive on collaboration with professionals in the photonics industry. My goal is to contribute to advancements in optics and its transformative potential across multiple industries.
