I am responsible for updating and maintaining state databases related to Wisconsin residents that are diagnosed with HIV. I also perform case follow-up on new or suspected new HIV cases to ensure the information is accurate and complete according to CDC guidelines.

Receive in patient samples, process for cell culture infection or PCR amplification for target agents. Report results via Laboratory Information System.

I maintain the Laboratory Information Software (LIS) to ensure proper collection of data and reporting of patient samples submitted to the Milwaukee City Lab for testing. I also am responsible for providing requested data from the LIS to interested parties utilizing both the LIS queries and Microsoft Access queries.

I am also involved in a drug discovery project where I am screening FDA approved compounds that can modulate vascular development in zebrafish.
