Without the money or the willingness to take on the debt to complete a degree, I got a job as a studio technician to take advantage of the School’s tuition program—which was open to employees who were accepted into programs in the schools where they worked and were able to maintain full-time hours.SVA’s graduate… Show more The decision to pursue an MFA was a huge leap of faith for me. For two years, I worked 40 hours a week—maintaining a sizable inventory of equipment, training students and faculty on its use, and installing large-scale gallery exhibits—and went to school full-time.
