My career in writing and journalism began back as a sophomore at Oregon State when I got involved with student media. I spent the rest of my college years writing and editing for student-run publications, and found myself as the Assistant Editor of our student lifestyle magazine, Beaver's Digest, when I was a senior. Upon graduation in 2020, I began work as a freelance writer for Cascade Sotheby's International Realty and Oregon Media. Before long, I accepted a full-time offer from Oregon Media and spent about a year and a half working on their editorial team as the sole staff writer. I spent this time researching, pitching, writing and editing for publications like Bend Magazine, Bend Home + Design, AAA's Via magazine, the Savor dining guide and multiple local travel guides, such as the 2020 Eastern Oregon Visitor's Guide and more. My duties also included writing our weekly newsletter, The Local, and creating SEO-driven blog posts for Visit Central Oregon.After enough time, I found myself restless to try something new and strike out on my own, and so I have decided to pursue a career as a freelance writer.
