I am currently conducting research with particle detectors that we built in order to gain a better understanding of cosmic showers and the variables that affect them (location, time, weather) in the T.W Bonner Nuclear Lab, focusing on muon detection. I perform my tasks in a group of three under the guidance of Dr. Frank Geurts. Our goal is to create a muon map over the greater Houston area and perform a muon lifetime study implementing more detectors and involving high schoolers passionate in scientific research—many high schools have unutilized particle detectors that are simply collecting dust as of today.

I led a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit community organization composed of high schoolers in the Fort Lee municipality that hosts community events, facilitates outreach, and builds new community leaders. My responsibilities included communicating with adult supervisors, conducting monthly meetings, organizing logistical and financial information, and representing the values of the organization through my actions and through public speeches at various events.Over the course of my time in YCFL, we hosted food drives, annually prepared gift donations for the Fort Lee Veterans of Foreign Wars, provided financial aid to community members, orchestrated a Stop Asian Hate protest, raised thousands of dollars through the Color Run, and annually celebrated the foundation of the Fort Lee Comfort Women Memorial (one of only a few more than 50 in the world).
