Under Armour needs no introduction as a leader in athletic wear innovation. What most probably don't know is that their e-commerce presence is backed by a highly sophisticated architecture that seamlessly handles millions of requests per day. As a backend lead, I head off initiatives centered around increasing performance, reducing costs, and supporting front-end development. Notable contributions I have made include creating a real time messaging platform that saves millions of dollars by allowing Under Armour to complete certain development projects in-house rather than contracting a third party, and implementing a proper feature flag solution that eliminates the need for development resources when adding, enabling, or disabling features.

New Western is a rapidly expanding investment real estate company that brought me on to lead the development of their first major application, a private property listing by region. I was largely responsible for establishing the application's architecture, development tools and workflow, and release strategy. On top of hiring and managing the team, I personally built out the integration to Salesforce, the entire cloud-based backend system, and a completely automated CI/CD strategy for testing and releases.To this day, building this entire platform from scratch has been my proudest achievement and has solidified my standing as an excellent leader in the technology space.

My time at Spider Strategies was a humbling experience. Only hiring the best-in-class Java developers, I was compelled to step back and hone my technical skills to build a highly performant web-based KPI management suite. My main contributions include an advanced UI-based dataset management solution, allowing users to easily import and manipulate their data from a myriad of sources, along with an intuitive and sophisticated charting and graphing system.

My role evolved from a part-time internal PHP developer to the company's first-ever L5 Java developer.I played a lead role in many large initiatives, including a one-click solution for enterprise software upgrades, a first-of-its-kind product master database, and the migration from Google Web Toolkit (GWT) to modern web technologies. I was heavily involved in every aspect, from design to delivery, and was often a pioneer of new technologies and strategies such as moving from waterfall development to Scrum, transitioning from SVN to Git, and shifting from Java to Node for front-end development.
