My name is Noah Walsh, and I am currently pursuing my Masters of Accountancy with a concentration in Information Management at the University of Tennessee, Haslam College of Business. Some of my key strengths are my leadership skills, analytical skills, and ingenuity. I have always enjoyed solving problems in creative ways, and I strive to be a good leader who can lead others to success. In the past I have used my skills to boost productivity in the workplace and to bring people together to achieve a common goal. An example that highlights these traits is when I helped to streamline a production process several years ago through mobile workstations at a company called Advanced Transit Manufacturing (ATM). In this scenario I was able to work with others and provide input to create a compact station that was highly organized and easy to maintain, which resulted in greater accuracy and efficiency in the workplace largely due to its mobility. This taught me the importance of working with others and how our combined strengths could be used to overcome obstacles, which is why I strive to be open-minded and I work hard to build on my strengths.As I continue in my career, my goal is to continue to develop my skills and abilities. I firmly believe that the pursuit of continued learning will be the groundwork to my success. In that regard, my first tangible goal now that I have obtained my undergrad degree in Accounting is to immediately pursue my master’s degree in accounting. While I am doing this, I will also be studying for my CPA exam, which I plan to take before graduating with my master's degree. I consider these goals to be fundamentally necessary for my career to continue. Once my master’s is complete, I will be able to focus more on applying my knowledge and skills in a real working environment, which is why my ultimate goal will be to acquire a corporate level job in accounting within the next 5-7 years. The steady income stream will then enable me to pursue other hobbies and ventures as I work to put my skills to good use.
