Former Grand Valley State Laker and current Pittsburgh Panther. I majored in Biomedical Sciences on the pre-medicine track, though I shifted my focus to the greater good - public health! I am currently working towards my Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, in which I hold a 4.0. In my short time in Pittsburgh, I have gained considerable training in both SAS and R, as well as an increased knowledge of infectious diseases.In the past, I worked as an optometrist technician for multiple MyEyeDr locations, which helped hone my skills in time management and working under pressure. It was a great experience as I worked closely with multiple optometrists, learning the intricacies of our nation's healthcare system in a way I could not have on my own.I have also have had the fortune to study the Italian healthcare system thanks to my clinical shadowing opportunity with Doctors in Italy. Having the opportunity to see the differences between different medical systems firsthand makes me uniquely knowledgeable. Plus, who wouldn't love to spend a month in Rome?Lastly, I am always eager to learn and grow, both in my career and in my personal life. I find that no challenge is too big and I pride myself in acting on the fly.
