Growing up, my parents raised me with one message above all others: if you can excel, you should excel. This message has defined how I live my life and continues to dictate my actions. In any area I push myself, I try to be the best I possibly can. I grew up homeschooled, but in my junior year of high school I switched to a curriculum made up exclusively of dual credit college courses at my local community college. I would do this for the entirety of my Junior and Senior years, graduating with a 4.0 GPA and excelling above my peers on the SAT. In the english section I missed one single question, outperforming 99% of other students on that section of the test. I continued with this drive for excellence at the University of North Texas, where I've fought to maintain my 4.0 GPA through the end of my sophomore year. I've also maintained membership in the honors college throughout all 4 semesters I've been enrolled, and I intend to gradute with honors awards.Outside of school I've displayed the same drive to be the best at what I do. In 2020 I took up Taekwondo, and earned my black belt in only 2 years, half the time the average student takes to earn one and the fastest at anyone from my dojo had before. I've also enjoyed scuba diving since I was young, and I currently have 11 seperate certifications, placing me at a skill level just bellow that of someone who dives professionally. In my work experience at Barefoot lifeguarding, I made a name for myself early and was promoted to a manager the first summer I was there. I have yet to decide on a career field, I'm still trying to find something that truly catches hold of me. As such, I've focused on developing a variety of skills. These include but are not limited: Office suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, technical writing, and team management. I learn new skills quickly, and am driven to become the best in any job or position I have, and will adapt to any situation I am put in.
