This role has built my confidence in working with young people and my ability to communicate well with my students, understand what they need and how they learn.

I currently work in a small fast paced burger-based kitchen run out of Lulie Tavern on Johnston St, Abbotsford. In this job I am responsible for cooking and presenting food for the venue during service, opening, and closing the kitchen both alone and with a team.

I have worked live sound in Sydney and Melbourne for places like The Petersham Bowling Club, Eora TAFE, The Colonial Hotel, The Toff in Town, The Gaso, and others on an occasional basis. This has given me practice in working independently under pressure, operating sophisticated live mixing equipment, basic lighting equipment, and organising bands before performances.

In this role I was expected to work stock, manage tills and basic admin as well as to have ensured a positive customer experience within the store even beyond point of sale.

In 2019 I moved interstate to Melbourne to study at RMIT. To support myself I facilitated a transfer within the Woolworths group to a similar role with less hours at a store in Fitzroy.

I supported the Service Manager of this store and was expected to look after my department, complete rosters, resolve customer enquiries and complaints, problem solve, and manage my teams’ performance efficiently. This advanced my customer service and management abilities to a high level.
