I joined Walmart to help grow the Design org and reimagine the Walmart customer experience upon the acquisition of Jet.com. Through this "epic" journey, we were able to change the flow of millions of customers and employees to facilitate better human outcomes. Ultimately, I was tasked with clearing the path, illuminating the design process and empowering our product managers, designers, researchers, analysts and engineers.Over two very productive years, I managed the cadence and comms of the Senior Leadership Team, including Director+ meetings, off-sites and regular all-hands meetings. I choreographed many org changes, processes, contracts and partnerships including our design capacity planning (team-wide estimation/resourcing), design tools evolution (enterprise design software), design system explorations (Google partnership), and so on. I contributed to process improvement for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, resourcing (FT/contractor/consulting), goal setting (OKRs in Betterworks), portfolio management and project tracking. Under visionary leadership, we proudly redesigned our omni-channel experience and elevated our brand icon: “The Spark” representing all the inspiration, effort and impact our Associates make each and everyday at Walmart. I am very proud of this team; there are 2.3 million Associates and 250 million Customers benefitting from the hard work and dedication of our small, but mighty UX Design teams (AX+CX=<3).- Introduced and matured a brand new Design practice while scaling the org from 55 to 150+ designers. - Launched a new team structure to ship a 2018 redesign of Walmart.com and Walmart+ mobile apps including contactless Curbside Pickup over 2 years ahead of the Covid pandemic. - Improved employee engagement and retention executing a turnaround plan around skills and mentoring (Walmart CoLabs); lifting team NPS from 41 to 65 in under 6 mos.
