Restaurants play a special role in people’s lives. They represent the human experience, and operate as a foundational element to the structures of society. When the restaurant industry is booming, the economy is booming and communities are happy. Restaurants define culture, values, and connection - and I like knowing I can play a part in facilitating joy, relationships, and success. I have used my educational & professional backgrounds to identify trends in the industry, and generate actionable results. My analysis of raw data coupled with the relationships I have with our employees allows me to understand areas for improvement for the entirety of the restaurant world. Innovation drives me to think differently, creating endless opportunities to improve these areas and generate successful business processes that lead to an enhanced experience for guests. 7 years ago I held my first job in the restaurant industry. When I saw the role sociology played I knew I was in the right place. Sociology & human behavior have been an interest of mine since I was young, so it was only natural that I studied the subject at DePaul University. With a background in sociological theory combined with business management education & experience, I have found ways to identify trends that predict human behavior and better prepare companies to maximize on this information. The future of the industry is going to be determined by a company’s ability to be flexible. As the world continues to change and evolve we must think, “How can restaurants continue to stay relevant while simultaneously enhancing the human experience?" This is the question I yearn to solve.
