As a Finance Technology Research Assistant working in graduate-level classes, my role primarily revolves around providing coding assistance and supporting research in the intersection of finance, artificial intelligence (AI), and Python programming. This involves aiding students with understanding and implementing finance-related coding concepts, troubleshooting and optimizing Python code. Additionally, I actively assist professor Xinde Zhang in research projects that focus on the application of AI in finance. This includes tasks like data gathering, analysis, and contributing to the development of AI models for financial predictions. Staying abreast of the latest trends in finance AI and continuously enhancing my technical skills in Python and large language models (LLMs) are key aspects of my role. Collaborating with faculty and students is crucial, as it fosters a productive and innovative research environment. Overall, my position is integral in advancing the understanding and application of technology in finance, while also enriching the educational experience of graduate students.

As a Tech Risk Intern at EY, I contributed to the audit of multiple clients, focusing on the evaluation of critical IT controls for SOC and SOX compliance. My work included the assessment of access controls, change management processes, and other key security areas, as well as conducting in-depth reviews of specific IT Automated Controls (ITACs) and IT General Controls (ITGCs). These activities were crucial in ensuring the reliability of financial reporting and the security of information systems. I also gained experience with risk mitigation strategies, IT audit methodologies, and control testing procedures to help organizations maintain compliance and operational integrity.
