I will be teaching high school students for the 2024-2025 school year. I aim to bring relational, differentiated learning to my classroom.

I am helping automated intelligence (AI) calculate mathematical solutions more effectively and precisely.

I helped 8th graders prepare for high school with good math fundamentals and academic habits. I valued having a good rapport with all of my 112 students, even if they may not have wanted one with me. I encouraged students to have a growth-mindset towards thinking abstractly, strategically, and quantitatively. This also grew my awareness of educational inequities.

Nature for Justice's program targets BIPOC farmers in North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, and other southern states. I helped Nature for Justice clarify their understanding of the human and organizational ecosystems that are critical to advancing justice across foodsheds in the American South.

I automated 20 documents ranging from certifications of trust to engagement agreements. I also provided broader support for the attorneys and their paralegals.

I was contracted to support FHI360 as they conducted the research for USAID Nigeria Mission’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy for YouthPower. I conducted qualitative coding and analysis as well as report writing and editing.

Though my focus was the at the nexus of humanitarian and development efforts in education in northeast Nigeria, I supported 19 other programs. I drafted IRB proposals and data collection tools, cleaned and analyzed data, and wrote and edited reports. I also designed and facilitated qualitative coding and analysis staff trainings.

I learned the basic skills required by qualitative coding and analysis. I also built upon my research methods knowledge from graduate school.

Though I was there to ensure safety, I facilitated discussions about topics ranging from climate change, income and wealth inequality in DC, and why it is important to engage in one’s community. This experience confirmed my desire to work with issues affecting youth.

A community-led organization noticed educating youth wasn't translating into economic empowerment. I interviewed and facilitated workshops for a variety of stakeholders, conducted a thematic analysis, and wrote a guidance document for their entrepreneurship program. I also helped recruit course facilitators and advised the creation of an adaptive management system. In my spare time, I engaged with students as a cultural resource, mathematics teacher, and economics tutor and curriculum designer.

The goal of AfP's project was to bridge neuroscience and spirituality to inform peacebuilding interventions. I focused on how we heal from trauma and the roles ritual can play in “priming” our attitudes and actions. I also sat in on numerous meetings and events regarding violent extremism and international advocacy to harmonize conflict and development efforts.

I was assigned with intra-organizational research to compose capability statements for future grants. However, my biggest takeaway was the intimate link between design, monitoring, and evaluating solutions to complex problems.

I conducted socioeconomics research in Southeastern Vermont including desk research on workforce development law, interviews with directors of local non-profits and local youth, and attending non-profit coalition meetings. This experience exposed me to the prevalence of misemployment, encouraging me to further develop the concept.

This was my first exposure to alternative dispute resolution and litigation. I did legal and municipal research, helped legal file motions, and supported the process of legal discovery in addition to scheduling, taking calls, billing, and other administrative duties.

This had me in the NYS Capitol and legislative office buildings almost every day, engaging with the staff of legislators and other environmental organizations. By exposing me to the empirical, legal, social, and other sides of the political process, this internship made me curious about domestic peacebuilding.

I developed surveys to assess financial behavior in South Africa and conducted qualitative analysis and cleaning for a UNICEF project. Being American and biracial, I was able to navigate the segregation in Cape Town in a way that challenged me to clarify how I wanted to span racial divides and promote justice.
