It's a visual platform that combines discovery, Q&A, and commerce (...think Houzz for car people.)Helped create and implement a cohesive product strategy - worked daily with design & engineering teams to make sure we built something beautiful, functional, and awesome.* Big picture: Steered the ship from a non-revenue-generating "social" platform to a revenue-generating online retailer. $0 to $1M+ run rate in a handful of months.* Led the redesign, rebuilding, and relaunching of the iOS app - out with the old (1.5 stars) and in with the new (4.8 stars).* Outlined and implemented end-to-end SEO strategy.

Scalyr built a ridiculously-fast log management & server monitoring SaaS platform that handles terabytes of log data per day and searches across that surface in seconds. I joined the two founders and helped scale the company to 20+ employees and 100x MRR. Playing the "utility infielder" role, I oversaw everything from financial ops to technical marketing ops to a UX/UI overhaul of the product. I managed our feature roadmap, conducted customer interviews, led recruiting efforts, and hired our first dedicated sales, marketing, biz ops, and recruiting teams. I also built our invoicing system (Ruby), CRM migration scripts (Ruby), community wiki (Ruby + Rails), and the scalyr.com marketing site (JavaScript + Node.js). Scalyr was backed by Heroic Ventures, Susa Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, Google Ventures, and Sherpalo Ventures. In February 2021, it was acquired by SentinelOne!

Founded & ran Gotham Dream Cars (www.gothamdreamcars.com), a luxury vehicle rental service. Launched in NYC in 2004, Miami in 2006, Los Angeles in 2013, and was acquired by Beverly Hills Rent-A-Car in June 2015. Managed every aspect of the company's operations as CEO - from bootstapped launch in my garage (literally) to 20+ person operation across three cities. Oversaw $4m fleet and grew revenue from $0 to $6m+.Also served as de-facto CTO and handled all aspects of the company's technology stack. Designed and built the consumer website and admin backend that powered the entire company's operations - from fleet management to gift certificate sales to rental reservations (Ruby + Rails + JavaScript). Also also handled all marketing (online + offline) -- incl. SEO, SEM, content marketing and our social presence.

Ahh, the early days of web 1.0. Conceived, founded, and oversaw development of the web's first electronic matching engine for commodity and commodity-like products, ushering in the first wave of B2B online marketplaces. Helped customers launch early markets in semiconductors, event tickets, and raw paper goods. Led customer research & requirements gathering, oversaw product design, and did all the things (*good and bad) that a 21 y/o founder does w/ a solid mix of hubris and naivité. Almost made it! Cashflow positive in Dec. 2001, but ultimately didn't quite get over the line. Acqui-hired (before that was a term of art) by the New York Mercantile Exchange in early 2002.
