My current focus is finance & technology. I have been an entrepreneur all my life, starting at the age of 16. Early on I was focused on Distributed Education Clubs of America (DECA) and Student Council. In DECA, I was afforded the opportunity to start my own business, which was a flyer distribution business. I was able to graduate high school as Student Body President, which was my first & last run-in with politics.After high school, I started a couple of retail outlets in Portland, Oregon, manufacturing & selling t-shirts. In 93, I decided to get involved with the family business. Working in that company gave me a great understanding of the manufacturing and distribution process, alongside a network & computer science boot camp.In 97, nepotism took its toll and I started to focus on developing websites and hosting. From 97 to 00 I took part in "dot com" evolution / revolution. The majority of my efforts were on software engineering, network engineering and telecommunications.In 00, I partnered with some friends to build a company, which spawned a whole series of other entities, the most famous of which is directNIC.com. My focus in this group for nearly 10 years was strategic in nature: software, network, finance and investment banking. Since 04, I have focused on developing and automating trading systems.Since 06 I have been active in asset management, hedge funds and investment banking.In 07 I helped revolutionize the high frequency trading industry by lighting dark fiber to most of the US based exchanges.Since 2010 I have focused on spot foreign currency exchange and have built out matching engines, smart order routing tools, market making & execution algorithms.Since 2019 I started to dabble in composite manufacturing: carbon fiber, fiberglass, infusion, prepreg, wet layups, etc.Since 2021 I have re-entered the domain name, online advertising, and general telecommunication space.
