Seongnam English Town (SNET) is an English school located in Seongnam City, a suburb of Seoul, Korea. The school, owned by Educhosun, a Korean publishing company, offers a one week immersion program for sixth grade students living in Seongnam. As a cataloguer at Library and Archives of Canada, I participated in a project, which involved the digitization of historical records, mainly census forms. I linked images to the appropriate electronic file and entered the relevant data.

In 2007, for two months, I volunteered at a kibbutz, which is a self sustaining community in Israel with other volunteers from various parts of the world. My two primary duties were cleaning the pool and dining hall duties. Once a week, I cleaned the large pool using a portable filter, and I was responsible for ensuring that the deck and washrooms were clean. Camp Kadimah is a full service, not-for-profit overnight camp for children 7-16 from countries all over the world. As the Director of Music for two consecutive summers, my primary duty was to teach songs to large groups of campers and inspiring musical creativity. Other duties over the camp season included organizing special events including Canada Day festivities, camper band, and directing music for the camp play.

At the JCC, I served as program leader of the After School Program. Children from various schools around the area would come for two to three hours and participate in fun activities aimed at building leadership skills as well as working on their homework with their peers. My duties were to pick up the groups of children from their respective schools, facilitate the activities, and assist them with their homework.

As a member of Creative Insights’ Logistics team, I was responsible for coordinating the logistics of various events. With the team, I set up and dismantled event sets including food stations, tables, decorations, and much more.
