My professional career has been spent in education and software, with the common denominator being design and communication. I enjoy using creative media and multiple languages to find ways to communicate across audiences.Sometimes this amounts to being an interpreter, either literally translating between languages, or "interpreting" some inscrutable aspect of a software system or mathematics text into a form it can be understood and utilized by a "user". Sometimes though (and this is where my real passion lies), communicating across audiences means finding a way to communicate my own designs and visions. If I were to choose a career again, I think it would be something in the mix of industrial design, architecture, and urban planning, and this says something about the approach I take to my work with software and with teaching.
