The Megalim Thermal Solar Power Station is a 121MW thermal-solar power BOT project located in Israel's Negev desert, developed by Megalim Solar Power LTD. This company started as a partnership between Alstom & BrightSource, and is now owned by the Noy Fund (75%) and GE Vernova (25%)This facility stands out as Israel's first thermal-solar - concentrated solar power (CSP) plant and is among the largest of its kind globally. It features over 50,600 computer-controlled heliostats, covering more than 3 square kilometers with a 247m Solar tower.Since beginning its commercial operation phase in April 2019, the Megalim power plant has aimed to provide renewable electric power sufficient for about 50,000 households, and contributes to a reduction of CO2 emissions of 120,000 Ton/yearly. It operates under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with the State of Israel, marking a significant step towards integrating renewable energy sources into the country's energy mix.My journey at Megalim began as CFO, transitioning to CEO, where I lead diverse teams and partner with renewable energy pioneers. As CEO, I set strategic directions, make key decisions, and manage the company's long-term objectives. In my role as Megalim’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), I brought over 7 years of executive leadership experience in finance and operations of BOT infrastructure projects. My goal was to secure the necessary USD 800 million investment for this unique Mega project. Via Maris Desalination group owns and operates the sea-water desalination plant in Palmachim, Israel. Via Maris has a BOO (Build, Operate and Own) contract with the state of Israel for planning, financing, Procurement, construction and operation of a desalination plant for a concession period until 2029 on a scale of 90,000,000 cubic meters (accumulated asset value reaches approximately 1 billion NIS, yearly revenue is approximately 250 million NIS). The group is comprised of a holdings company, a concessionaire company-SPC, a construction contractor EPC, and an operations & maintenance company O&M.In my capacity, I have:▪️ Led a 400 million NIS bid, coordinating with the Ministry of Finance, Water Authority, and Mekorot (the national water carrier), and successfully managed negotiations and contractual agreements with key stakeholders and subcontractors.▪️ Spearheaded customer and supplier negotiations aligning with Public Utility Authority-Electricity standards, secured energy acquisitions, and facilitated project financing with banks, ensuring adherence to financial models and covenants.▪️ Maintained the group's Aa3 debt rating with Midroog, managed regulatory compliance for permits and environmental standards, and oversaw procurement, construction, and project financials.▪️ Directed comprehensive financial operations including accounting, payroll, budget control, and procurement, alongside managing cash flow, investments, risk management, and insurance policies.▪️ Played a pivotal role in corporate governance, tax reporting, financial reporting (IFRS and Israel Securities Authority regulations), and strategic planning, while simultaneously serving as CFO for three companies, aligning with multiple CEOs.
