I became the EM of the Build team responsible for the digital product offerings (Course, Coaching, Podcasts, Communities) Kajabi is known for. I worked with stakeholders to help shape the roadmap, mentored and coached engineers in their careers and guided the team to be predictable and happy.

I’m a tech lead for the Build team at Kajabi. I work closely with stakeholders to help shape ideas into tangible products. Some of the things I’m proud of in my time here include: - Building a rich UI/UX for a new pipelines feature. It was built with vanilla JS to allow our users to easily stitch together landing pages into a funnel, edit both the pages, and flow quickly. This was a full-appetite project and one of the more fun things I’ve been able to build here.- Worked closely with our iOS & Android devs to launch Kajabi’s first mobile apps. I was tasked with backend work, which utilized a hybrid approach of native and web-rendered elements. - Due to the increased traffic from the COVID pandemic, app stability and performance became top priorities across the company. My team was tasked with optimizing the top two “hottest” paths in our app. We needed to not only bring down response time but also limit the number of database connections. We utilized IdentityCache and ETags and helped push a POC of caching our liquid-rendered pages to completion.- Hands-on in just about every aspect of development run through the Build team. This not only included Code Reviews, pairing, and dealing with support escalations, but also weekly one-on-ones to mentor and coach devs when needed.

DailyMinded is a privacy-first email-based journaling web app for busy adults. Reply to an email (or text) and mark journaling off your list of todos. It’s a passion project of mine, and I am the only software engineer in the group. I built a custom Ruby on Rails app that:- Allows for searching and viewing of your posts (text & photo)- Integrates with Stripe for subscription billing- Accepts inbound webhooks from Mailgun and Twilio for journal entries- Built and maintain the production environment

DFC is a website that provides data and tools to help daily fantasy sports players gain an advantage over the competition. I built and maintained most of dailyfantasycafe.com and its associated web properties.A few of the things I’m proud of:- Built a custom CMS & web app using Laravel. It was able to handle thousands of monthly users consuming content and data-driven tools - Built a publishing platform for writers to administer articles, podcasts & pages to the site- Built data applications to serve as a middle layer for our data-driven tools. It ingested 10+ APIs from around the web to compile JSON feeds that powered the tools on DFC.- Built multiple tools with Vue and Backbone to consume, present, and manipulate data for our users in any sport.

This by Them was three person consultancy servicing a wide range of clients. We worked with everyone from single person realtors to high profile clients like Sony Music and Screen Actors Guild. Being 1/3 of This by Them, I was involved with every process of pitching, planning, selling, building and following up with clients projects. We also managed to put out a couple of products of our own.

The RTC Group is a marketing company that hosts events and publishes magazines in the embedded computing industry. I was part of a two-person development team that worked closely with the design team. My responsibilities included:- Maintain existing custom RoR/PHP websites for both events and magazines.- Instrumental in planning and rebuilding the magazine websites on CakePHP to help streamline the editorial workflow and publishing of print content to the web- Rebuilt the event websites from very basic PHP sites to full-featured CakePHP applications
