I retired from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) as an Army Brigadier in April 2018 after 32 years of service, inclusive of operational deployments to Namibia, Cambodia, the Middle East and Afghanistan.I am a graduate of the Royal Military College – Duntroon (RMC-D), the University of New South Wales (UNSW) / Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) and the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Command and Staff College.During my military career I held a number of senior command and principal staff officer appointments in both the Army and the wider ADF. As a civil engineering degree qualified officer I am also highly experienced in the leadership and management of military engineering and capital facilities and infrastructure development, project and construction management activities.During the last ten years of my military career I gained further experience in the development and delivery of program level capability objectives across Defence, the most recent being the Capital Facilities Program.My last position held in Defence was as the Director General Capital Facilities and Infrastructure (DGCFI).
