I've worked in the field of surface and groundwater hydrology, wetlands protection, environmental analysis and permitting, and stream restoration for the last 20 years. During this period I've lived and worked in Hawaii, California, Washington, and Colorado, and have been involved in projects in multiple other states. I've also taught a total of 19 different courses at five universities and two community colleges. I have skills with GIS, AutoCAD, hydrologic software, stream health assessments, wetland delineation, and wildfire burned area emergency assessments. I've worked with a wide range of entities, from federal and state agencies to Tribes and non-profit organizations. I have a BS/BA in geology and English, an MS in marine geology, and a PhD in physical geography--plus graduate certificates in natural resource management and marine policy. I've greatly enjoyed my career and the people I've worked with. It's been a great ride!
