Since childhood I have been captivated by the power words have to tell the stories of people, change lives, and explore the world we live in. I believe that everyone deserves to have their story told. I pursued this belief by getting my BA in Journalism with a minor in Gender Studies. During my time working at The Slate, the award-winning student-run newspaper at Shippensburg University, I built a solid foundation and wide portfolio for my career in journalism.Through hard work and dedication, I won a Keystone Media Award for my photo gallery of celebrations in Washington D.C. the day the 2020 presidential election results were announced. In addition, I served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Slate in the 2021-2022 school year when the paper won 7 Keystone Media Awards. Currently, I am a reporter for the York Dispatch, and look forward to serving my community and honing my skills.
