I am a Singaporean currently serving as a Senior Officer at the Culture & Information Division within the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Directorate of the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia. I have over a decade of expertise in programming and policy work, in the fields of cultural heritage, media and information, and Southeast Asian archaeology.In my current role at ASEAN, I provide substantive research and analysis to support policy recommendations, offer technical advice, and lead initiatives for various sectoral bodies. I also coordinate and provide technical support for the development, implementation, and evaluation of diverse programmes and projects that align with ASEAN’s cultural and information objectives.Previously, I was the Senior Specialist in Archaeology at the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Archaeology and Fine Arts (SEAMEO SPAFA) in Bangkok, Thailand, where I led the academic section and oversaw the centre's programmes in Southeast Asian Archaeology. I also launched and served as the managing editor of the SPAFA Journal in its current form, transforming it into a leading Open Access journal that achieved a Scopus listing and high rankings in the field. My academic interests are in the archaeology of Southeast Asia, the rock art of Southeast Asia, cultural heritage policy, and science communication.Beyond my primary responsibilities, I curate the Southeast Asian Archaeology website and newsletter in a personal capacity. Since 2006, this platform has been a popular resource for enthusiasts and professionals alike, offering news and engaging content on the archaeological wonders of Southeast Asia. I also serve as an expert member in two ICOMOS Scientific Committees: Rock Art (ICOMOS ISC-CAR) and the International Committee on Archaeological Heritage Management (ICAHM).
