I am PhD student at U of Maryland, College of Edu, Dept of TLPL, in the Tech, Learning (Sciences), Leadership program. Research focus: Prek Computational Literacy, Assistive AI-based Learning (students & teachers), participatory design-based research, teacher professional learning & growth, research practice partnerships, implementation science, equitable access, project-based learning, leadership development, and learning analytics.I am a promiscuous mixed-methods researcher using Participatory Action Research, Design-based Research, Qualitative, & Quantitative (especially CritQuant, causal inference and machine learning). I also work with high frequency classroom and learning data to help learners understand their cognitive and affective learning styles.I frame my research and questions by embracing critical theory (critical race & its subsets, quantCRT), liberatory, and action oriented ends. Viewing 21st century K-12 education with an impressionistic mindset & through a critical gender lens (to develop intersectional feminist minds.) I care deeply about improving student agency of girls (especially native AfAm, Latinx, & Indigenous) , & increasing the participation of women in science & technology fields. I actively encourage & teach girls in urban environments to pursue a career in science, technology & social entrepreneurship. I have taught Math & CS for 3 years in urban classrooms in Boston, MA & at a rural school in Nyamata, Rwanda.
