I started off as a primary school teacher in 1994, but enrolled at PU for CHE to study B.Ed(Hons) Training & Development. After my graduation in 2001 I developed an interest in law and subsequently completed LLB with Unisa in 2010. I joined Anglo American, Kumba Iron Ore (Kolomela Mine) in 2009 as a HRD Coordinator. HR Training and Organisational Development within Kolomela Mine provided me with a platform to broaden my horizons into human capital development where I'm currently a final year Master student at Stellenbosch University in Training and Development for Lifelong Learning. My research topic is: "Artisanship through workplace learning: a Case study at a South African Mine". I focus on the concept of informal learning of the engineering apprentice with the workplace providing for learning through coaching and mentoring from the Engineering Supervisor and Master Artisan. Currentlty I'm an Advisor: Compliance Register for Kolomela Mine looking after the company's compliance to relevant legislation (MPRDA, LRA, BCEA) as per the conditions in its SLP, EMR and MWP as well as other legal commitments.
