I worked on a small but impactful team focused on global executive hiring at Tesla. My focus was on finding and identifying talent, as well as outreach/engagement strategy, and candidate development. While our team covered all aspects of Tesla's organizational structure, I primarily focused on Engineering, Operations and Manufacturing hiring. I also worked on key searches in Sales and G&A across EMEA and APAC.A few highlights include:Built a comprehensive tagging system across the entire Tesla Exec Hiring landscape (Software, Ops, Manufacturing, Hardware, Sales/Service, G&A, etc.) and led a small project team to enter tags and add tracking/searchable data to thousands of executive level prospects.Led trainings on leveraging LinkedIn Recruiter as a prospect tracking system.Train and mentor junior Sourcers on the team.

I helped source Product Management leaders across multiple businesses. I also led talent mapping, as well as outreach and engagement campaigns.A few highlights included:Built a tag mapping system to both understand our internal talent dynamics, as well as enhance our ability to collaborate and share candidates across multiple teams. Led a large scale PM focused ATS sourcing effort, screening thousands of prior applicants for active pipelines in a matter of days. Routinely helped onboard, train and mentor fellow Recruiting Team members. Partnered closely with business leaders to develop broad based, data driven strategies to find and engage high profile candidates for top searches in the company. Leveraged cross functional teams to help build and expand diverse candidate pipelines.

I helped LinkedIn to create economic opportunity for everybody. I did this primarily by finding people who have the vision to create products which give everyone the information and tools they need to be more productive and successful in their life's work.Most of my work was focused on Leadership level searches and strategic sourcing initiatives across Product Management and Business Development teams. I also helped where I could to improve LinkedIn's Talent Solutions and Media products which are changing the world of human capital and the talent acquisition marketplace. I did a lot over the years with LinkedIn, and have partnered with different teams including, Product Management, Business Development, Data Science, Product Analytics, Business Operations and Corporate Development.Some highlights from the not so distant past include:Founded two cross functional sourcing groups to increase collaboration and candidate sharing across multiple staffing teams.Built and drove talent mapping and nurturing programs for Executive Recruiting efforts across Product Management and Business Development.Facilitate trainings and mentor Sourcers across multiple teams both individually and in groups.

I sourced passive candidates and was also a full cycle Recruiter supporting technical and non-technical teams throughout Google’s Global Business and Portfolio Staffing Organizations.Some highlights include:Project Lead for multiple high volume hiring initiatives with aggressive targets completed ahead of schedule both in the US and EMEA, mostly in the realm of R4R.Project Lead for several programs designed to increase productivity ramp for new Sourcers including: training and onboarding of new Sourcers, sourcing office hours, cross functional sourcing jams, individualized training and mentorship.Developed and facilitated numerous trainings targeted towards Sourcers to enhance skills in the areas of Boolean search, open web search, as well as more tool specific trainings such as advanced LinkedIn Recruiter workshops and Google’s internally developed ATS.Developed and led sourcing strategy and outreach for executive level searches across Finance and People Operations both in the US and EMEA.Partnered with Google Ventures to hire senior level technical talent for their portfolio companies across a broad range of functional areas including Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, UX/UI Design, and Technical Program Management. I became a lot more interested in Technical and Product Recruiting after having a sample sized experience with GV.Helped to develop and enhance the launch, and subsequent iterations, of Google’s passive candidate tracking tool and ATS by providing written feedback and workflow best practices to develop product requirements.

I mostly helped find people for technical accounting positions (tax, sec, treasury, audit, etc.) across the technology sector. This was a great opportunity to join a small staffing firm and work with a tight team of amazing people.

I was a full cycle Recruiter hiring mostly for FP&A roles. I also worked on searches in other areas including Tax, Treasury, and Business Systems. This was my first exposure to corporate recruiting and I learned a lot in a short period of time.

I started the Foster City Branch for Ajilon. I hired and managed five people, oversaw all of the daily operations of the branch and ran my own book of business. My team's focus was in the Accounting and Finance realm. I also played gracious host to the Legal and Office divisions who always knew how to get the party started.

RHI was my first job in staffing and my first job that had more to do with a self-directed career path than just earning a buck. I worked in the Accountemps division of the Palo Alto branch. There were many highlights, including joining the weekly 1K hours club many times over and building great client relationships, including those with people at VMware and Google, which ultimately led to career opportunities with those companies years later. The best thing about RHI was the team I worked with at the Palo Alto branch. They made all the 12 hour days and constant activity tracking as fun as it could possibly be. This is the place where I learned the fundamentals.

A little late for the grunge scene in Seattle, but I did my best working with a really cool music company that filled the retail industry with ASCAP and BMI licensed playlists. I handled most major/national accounts for receivables. This meant that I was on the phone all the time figuring out how to collect millions of dollars in AR from cash strapped retail chains. It helped me at RHI because I was well used to a phone by then.

SCBT was my main job while in college. I worked most of the time throughout college and added a short list below.SCBT evolved into a full time role after graduation (March of 1998) and I was managing a small team of part time AR Clerks by the time I left. We were responsible for counting and collecting cash receivables, mostly from very process driven Universities and research institutions including the NIH and various hospital organizations. Other paid jobs while at UCSC during this time:Research Assistant for an Economics Professor - Gathered historical data to document economic growth in mid 19th century New England. It was not that educational.File Clerk for a Divorce Attorney - that was educational...Ranch Hand - worked part time on the SCBT goat ranch building a fence up Back Ranch Road. I enjoyed this more than anything else at the time. Great views and hard labor!Landscaper - I was a laborer for Alpha Landscaping. I spent most of my time digging trenches in hard clay baked by the summer heat of Silicon Valley. This was the most educational and instructive work I had ever done up to that point.
