Governance caretaker for the Vlaardigen Commons projecthttps://www.stadindemaak.nl/farewell-pension-almonde-welcome-vlaardingen-commons/For my graduation project I am working with Stad in de Maak (SidM)/City in the Making. This is a foundation that manages temporarily vacant real estate properties and turns them into spaces that contribute to the city, and where people can live and work in a different way – affordable, sustainable. One of the projects that SidM is working on is Vlaardingen Commons/Vlaardinger Meent. The basic principles upon which it works are alternative forms of cohabitation, including sharing facilities as much as possible and engagement with the residents of the neighbourhood.My specific role in this project, is that of "governance caretaker", meaning that I facilitate the community in the process of developing a bottom-up, non-hierarchical, decentralised structure. For my graduation project I am interested in how a community organised upon principles of commons and non-hierarchy can create its own unique, adaptable structure and how I might be involved in facilitating such a process.For this project I am facilitating the process through various interventions, from more formal meetings or interviews, to more informal creative sessions, community-building events or personal conversations.

I believe in and want to contribute to a world in which we are more connected – to nature, to each other and to ourselves. I am still exploring what that means in practice, but what I have discovered is that I resonate with the ecovillage movement and with the kind of societal transformation it is supporting. That is why I want to learn from and meaningfully contribute to Ecovillage Boekel.

The connectors act as intermediates within the Performatory community, bringing together the different groups: students, lecturers, commissioners, alumni and so on. My main role revolved around developing the topic of embodiment within the community. This meant creating more awareness and understanding of the concept within the community by introducing theoretical knowledge within the curriculum, as well as providing practical experience for the communitymembers through workshops.

The Czech Centre is a governmental organisation connected to the Czech Embassy in Bucharest. Its efforts revolve around developing the Czech-Romanian relations in the arts and cultural domain, as well as building and promoting a set of educational, artistic and social values. Throughout the years, the projects it has created and participated in, have made it a cultural hotspot in Bucharest.Working in a small team in such an inspiring environment has been a rich experience. My responsibilities were very diverse, spanning from setting up exhibitions, to initiating media partnerships, or translating official documents.

Femei pe Matasari (Women on Matasari street) is an urban festival that aims to expose the feminine art universe in all its diversity and tackle women's role in society and the societal challenges that women face.
