Maintenance of FLO-2D Installation… Show more Participation in multiple projects using FLO-2D to generate suitable solutions in complex domains that include hydrology and hydraulics analysis, storm drain analysis, floodplain mapping, flood routing and data processing. - Design and create subroutines, mathematical algorithms and applications for simulation of surface hydrology and hydraulics in FLO-2D. Accomplished projects: Maintenance of FLO-2D Codes and the associate tools. Maintenance of FLO-2D Installation Program. Development of the FLO-2D Model Tool: Multiple Outflow Hydrograph. Development of a new grid element flow connectivity. Development of the Grid Element Volume Storage Rating Tables in FLO-2D. Elimination of NOFLOCs and development of the mathematical algorithm to include canal confluences in FLO-2D. Creation of a backup set of binary files. - Performance of the verification and validation procedure of the new FLO-2D PRO release to check that it fulfills its intended purpose.- Development, implementation and enhancement of the link between the FLO-2D flood routing model and the EPA Storm Water Management Model Version 5.0 (SWMM). Both models run simultaneously and FLO-2D calculates all hydrologic and hydraulic surface water routing (channel, street and unconfined overland flow) while SWMM will only solve the conduit hydraulics and flow routing in a given storm drain network. - Coordination and management of the development team for the FLO-2D code an the associate tools as the pre-processors programs (GDS and EPA SWMM 5 GUI) and the post-processor tools (Mapper and Mapper ++). - Coordination of the development team that creates the Tailing Dam tool that has been developed to predict the occurrence of tailings dam failure and the subsequent release volume of stored tailings and it is based on risk analysis methods promoted by the US Bureau ofReclamation for water storage dams.
