Culture, Identity, and Health LabFaculty Supervisor: Dr. Delida SanchezJanuary 2019 – Present - Member of a research team that assesses perceived discrimination, racial and ethnic identity, health outcomes, and intersectional identities among adolescents and college students of color.- Collaborated with team members on conceptualizing and designing studies, writing manuscripts, content analysis, data entry, and data analysis- Collected and analyzed data regarding E-cigarette usage in adolescents in middle schools and high schools.- Organized and implemented focus groups using Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) curriculum in high schools. Through YPAR, students were empowered and trained to conduct their own research on topics of their interests through weekly group sessions. - Member of a task-force of researchers reviewing and analyzing articles published in the Hispanic Journal of Behavioral Sciences aimed at examining and highlighting the gap in research on the mental health outcomes of Afro-Latinx populations.
