Assistant Teacher 0-3Yrs
CurrentI have wanted to work in education ever since my third grade tutor opened her heart to me and guiding me to learn English and helping me with my school work. Her love and patience of teaching, inspired me to want to do the same for children who's English is not their first language. I am currently working fulltime for a non-profit organization as an assistant teacher. Here I get to indulge myself into my passion for teaching while also getting the opportunity to learn from my students. To enrich my skills as a teacher, I am also currently attending classes at National Louis University pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Bilingual Teaching. My career interest is driven towards advocation for young children who's native language becomes a barrier to their learning. Being part of a Early Head Start program has allowed me to teach my students in both their native language and also incorporating English to theirs lessons. I have joined a committee at my job which its purpose is to include a diverse spectrum of staff who are dedicated to improving diversity, inclusion, and equity. More so now, I believe in spreading positivity in anything I do can create for better life experience.
