I recently completed a doctorate degree in Policy and development studies from the University of KwaZulu Natal , and hold a master’s degree in development studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Also, I have a bachelor's degree in social work from the same university. I am registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a social worker. In my career as a social worker, researcher and development practioner I have worked in a number of settings, including NGO sector, government sector and institutions of higher learning. My passion lies in the promotion of social development and tackling social ills that affect our communities. To date, I have given my expert opinion on social ills that affect our communities in different media platforms and continue to do so in mypractice as a social worker, development practioner and researcher.
