Appointed by Mayor Landrieu and served from 2012 - 2016. Reappointed by Mayor Cantrell and served from 2018 - 2021. Served as Chair from 2015 -2016.

• Managed a budget of $3.2 million, a staff of five and reported to a board of 53 stakeholders• Responsible for leading the internal budget process and securing approval of the annual service plan by the Dallas Planning Commission and the City Council• Initiated and led the board’s governance committee in a comprehensive review of bylaws and policies, review of the existing strategic plan, and the initiation of a new 10-year strategic plan• Worked with neighborhood leaders to create a late-night public safety plan including external communication strategy, and operational plan for utilizing our public safety officers. • Oversaw the completion of district’s first new playground and the instillation of 3 significant public art projects – including the approval of the first public art crosswalk in Dallas• Led public and political engagement process in the approval of a thoroughfare amendment to slow traffic and convert two 3-lane through streets into two-way neighborhood serving streets, resulting in full public funding of the project.

• Common Good was started after Hurricane Katrina, to intentionally build diverse relationships and partnerships to solve difficult challenges in rebuilding New Orleans• Led the creation of two new organizations, Court Watch – a volunteer organization focused on accountability within the criminal court system, and Engage NOLA – an organization focused on involving young professionals in political and public policy decisions about the future of New Orleans• Worked with the Executive Director to create and staff the New Orleans Crime Coalition• Built a diverse coalition to advocate for establishment of an independent office of Inspector General and Police Monitor within the City of New Orleans, as well the passing of an amendment to the City’s charter giving the City’s master plan for land use the force of law.
