After receiving his bachelors in Bioengineering: Biotechnology from the University of California, San Diego (CA, USA) Nolan began concentrating his research on the compact camera markets. In 2009 he started a company which later became Peau Productions, Inc (www.peauproductions.com). Peau Productions supplies small camera lenses which are compatible with cameras such as the GoPro Hero, and which have been used all over Earth and space. Notable space clients include SpaceX, NASA and Blue Origin. You have likely seen images captured by a Peau lens from space.In 2015 Nolan created the MAPIR brand to address the growing interest in using compact multispectral cameras on aerial (autonomous) vehicles. The miniaturization of remote sensing technology aligned with the compact camera technology being developed at Peau, so the company name was changed to MAPIR, Inc. Nolan's R&D projects at MAPIR are driven by his customers' desire for user-configurable products, including the use of the most cutting edge 3D printing technologies.MAPIR, Inc (www.mapir.camera) currently specializes in compact, multispectral cameras for various industries. While MAPIR continues to offer products designed for use on aerial vehicles it has expanded into terrestrial applications such as environmental monitoring and indoor agriculture.
