As a trauma coach, my goal is to assist clients in evaluating their anxiety levels and support them to achieve a successful outcome in their healing journey. I aim to provide clients with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage their trauma symptoms effectively. Ultimately, I aspire to facilitate a significant transformation in their lives, boost their confidence, and enable them to move forward with renewed energy.As a youth mentor and rites of passage facilitator, I aim to ensure that young people have a supportive adult who cares about them, can guide them through daily struggles, and connects them with personal growth and development opportunities.

I teach two different courses: a doctoral-level course called "Stop The Violence" and a masters-level course called "Prisons: New Realities, New Missions." The doctoral-level course explores how congregations can help put an end to the various forms of violence that plague local communities. It focuses on developing policies and strategies that can transform the culture of violence and create sustainable social change. The masters-level course investigates prison ministry models, re-entry ministry models, and campaigns to end mass incarceration. Students learn how to utilize a logic model and develop theories of change to design a ministry program that fits their ministry context.

Served as a consultant in developing a trauma-informed care curriculum for young people with histories of emotional and psychological injury; utilized a strength-based trauma coaching approach to help young people develop their self-determination capacities and promote a culture of safety, empowerment, and healing; engaged young people in the process of identifying their vocational goals and devising strategies for achieving their goals; trained program staff in developing a program logic model and theory of change to facilitate their identification of program inputs, activities, enablers, intermediate outcomes, and impacts.

Trained members of the Clerk’s Office staff in change management methodologies; provided consultation and assistance to various project teams throughout the Clerk’s Office to facilitate the successful completion of strategic initiatives; supervised “Action Workout” projects for numerous divisions and departments in the Clerk’s Office. Supported the successfully completed of 20 projects in less than five years; interacted with technology vendors to ensure clerk office staff; participated in the development of an office-wide administrative and operational procedures manual; participated in the design and implementation of the Clerk’s Office change management program for the Cashiering Project in consultation with Deloitte and Touche, LLP.; assisted in the transition and strategic planning process for the newly elected Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Dorothy Brown. In addition, I served as a liaison between Clerk’s Office staff and the judiciary; and provided customer service to distraught families taking their first steps to navigate a highly complex legal justice system to gain guardianship of their aging parents or facing the reality of losing custody of their children.

Provided spiritual counseling to congregational members and neighborhood residents; established a Community Outreach and Public Relations Committee to strengthen the church's and surrounding neighborhood's partnership; organized and launched a Children's Church ministry; handled layout, defined design criteria, completed initial planning and cost estimates, and secured funds to convert the church parsonage into a neighborhood youth center; and developed and implemented a faith-based demonstration model for the United Way African American Males Initiative.
