About Nolan Wright

I'm currently an in-person state intern with Senator Ron Wyden's Portland office for the 2024 Fall Term, where I assist with constituent services, policy research, and community outreach. This role allows me to gain first-hand experience in the legislative process and learn from one of Oregon's most dedicated public servants.I continue to serve as a Policy Fellow in the Northwest Oregon Legislative Fellowship, an 11-week program hosted by Representative Bowman, the Majority Leader of the Oregon House of Representatives. This fellowship continues to equip me with hands-on experience in policy development, election campaigning, and political strategy, and provides opportunities to engage with influential political leaders and policy experts. My passion for public service is rooted in my commitment to social justice. At Willamette University, I was honored with the Chaplains Award for Social Justice and the Service and Philanthropy Award for my work in advocating for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the Civic Engagement Office and as the founder of the Best Buddies Club, a chapter of Best Buddies International. I received an Institutional Research Grant, which enabled me to explore the juvenile justice system through developing a podcast series. I focused upon engaging stakeholders from across the United States to explore topics ranging from mental health, judicial process, and policy implementation. Previously, I served as a Campaign Strategy Consultant for Kurt Kroemer for Congress, where I developed digital strategies, targeted outreach, and content creation, helping to reach tens of thousands of voters and potential donors.I am passionate about making a positive impact in my community through public policy and advocacy and will continue to seek opportunities that allow me to collaborate with others, drive meaningful change, and contribute to a more equitable and just society.
